Safe at Home

Falls are the leading cause of fatal and nonfatal injuries in older adults, with up to 60% of them happening in or around the home. Safe at Home provides low-cost, high-impact home modifications and minor repairs, enabling residents to live safely in their homes for years to come.

Our volunteer teams provide minor repairs and modifications such as installing grab bars in kitchens and bathrooms, securing or installing railings on interior and exterior stairs, adding toilet risers and shower bench chairs, switching out traditional shower heads with hand-held models, carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors and fire extinguishers, and installing doorbells.
